June Round-Up

My Sister & Nephew Came to Visit!

To start off June, my sister and nephew came to stay for the weekend which was nice. Turns out my nephew is super obsessed with Spider-Man and I couldn’t be prouder! He was excited to get back home as he had a new Spider-Man bed and to be honest… I would be excited to go see it too!

The Reality of…

Bethany tells us how these conditions have affected her, in The Reality Of EDS, Osteoarthritis, Sacroiliitis, Hashimoto’s, IBS, Gluten Intolerance & OCD

I hate thinking that being sick has changed me, but I don’t have the energy I used to have. It’s changed my physical appearance. I now gain weight if I eat anything and I have trouble losing, my hair is thinning out and my skin is drier.

I Made an Oopsie!

I made a massive cock-up… which is normal for me! I don’t know what made me check but I double checked that our ‘giving notice’ appointment was 28 days before our wedding, which it was. But as some time had passed since I originally booked the appointment, the website had updated! The appointment needed to be 30 days! 2 days out! Thankfully it is all rescheduled now for July!

New Record!

In one of my physio sessions this month, I walked with my frame and the support of my physiotherapist… roughly about 15 feet (I’m terrible at distance!) My previous time it took me to walk that length was 2 minutes and 50 seconds. Well, I smashed it! My new record is 1 minute 56 seconds!!

After physio, I was hoping someone was free so I could get weighed… thankfully all my favourites were free! Anyway, I was dreading finding out how much I weighed as since the last time I got weighed, in February,, I’ve still been having 3 meals a day but just with a few biscuits in between Thankfully, and I’m not sure how I didn’t put on more, but I only put on 1kg!… since February!

Last Lot of Extractions!

I finally had my last lot of extractions… well for this round of treatment! So, until I get my dentures, I am officially a gummy bear!

I Received A Certificate from Scope!

This was completely unexpected but such a wonderful surprise! For volunteer’s week 2019, Scope gave certificates to their community champions on the online community!

It’s the Final Countdown!

Got The Final Countdown stuck in your head now ain’t ya? We finally hit double digits in our wedding countdown!

My 3 Wedding Wishes

You will find out how the idea for this post came to me in the first section of My 3 Wedding Wishes! This post really made me think what I would like to happen just to make our day that little bit more special.

White Lodge Superhero Tri

Hannah, from Hannah’s Hope, asked me if I would like to join her team for the White Lodge Superhero Tri! Iv3 never attended this event before but I have a feeling it will be an amazing day! Ewan is my sidekick and together we will be tackling the 1km – I hope to propel myself the whole distance but I know I need to pace myself, so Ewan will be there if I struggle. If you would like to donate, please click on the link above!

“We now know that foods can actually heal as well as harm. Unless we tell, most people don’t know that we are diabetics. We try to stay healthy, eat right, walk daily, take our medication and continue to try to lose weight.

I Was Nominated for The Blogger Recognition Award!

The Reality of…

Alexandra talks candidly about how her illness has not only taken away from her, but what it’s also given her, in The Reality of Chronic Migraines, IBS & Scoliosis

Migraines have taken a lot away from me, and I’m homebound as I often cannot drive due to my symptoms or medication side effects. However, I’m thankful for migraines’ as they have given me a voice and shown me what is actually important in this life.

Magpie Wedding

I am super excited to share with you that Magpie Wedding will be following me on my journey of wedding planning! Ewan’s Stag Do

Ewan headed off for his stag do! With 3 friends and his brother. A weekend away and I know that he has donned a pink palm shirt, lots of food, lots of beer, bowling, amusements, and XBOX! He sounded like he was having a good time so I’m happy! Managed to get a quick photo before his friends came to pick him up!

The Reality of…

Aimée shares with us how she struggled with her mental health after being diagnosed with Scoliosis, in The Reality of Scoliosis, Depression & Anxiety

My life is completely different and it changed me as a person due to being thrown into a new life living with Scoliosis and mental health conditions. I am a lot more sensitive, tearful and self critical of myself, always caring too much of what others think of me and never thinking what’s best for me.

UndercoverSuperhero Has A New Logo!

Charlotte, from Time To Talk, is the amazing superhero who created my new logo! I love her forever and ever for it!

My Experience with A Tracheostomy

Alex, from Notebook of a Neck Breather, asked if I would like to guest post on her blog and write about my experience with a tracheostomy. I go into more detail about how I found the whole experience and you can find the post here, My Tracheostomy Enabled Me To Tell My Partner That I Love Him

Overall, June has been another busy month but a rewarding one with the awards I have been kindly nominated for! I’m excited for July as I have some awesome news to share with you all, Ewan and I will give our notice of marriage, more articles published with Magpie Weddings. I will stop there as I could go on all day!
